She closed her eyes and in a swift moment, she relived her childhood with Yoohwan. She went back to the time when she used to have this little schoolgirl crush on him. She shared with him the sweets given by her grandpa. She was happy with him until one day, he refused her chocolates and cupcakes and instead, he chose to play with that boy who won’t even play with him. He even cried for him. Hyeji was rather disheartened by his actions. And when he finally approached her, she refused to talk to him.

But how could she just lose someone that important just because he won’t like her back at that time? She watched him getting nervous with his confession. She wasn’t disappointed anymore, she already knew he was gay. She was just waiting for him to tell her, and he did finally. “Im Yoohwan,” she called him but he was still looking away. Hyeji faced him and told him, “I knew you were ever since you cried about that guy before, remember?” Hyeji cheered him up by smiling back and hugged him. “Gay… lizard… bear… whatever you may be, I’ll always be your friend.” 

He sighed in relief and hugged her tightly. “Well, I’m glad I’m not a lizard or bear, because I can talk to you.” He chuckled. “And… Thank you. Really. I knew I can trust you. And sorry for not telling you that sooner.” He was on the edge of tears, but he wanted to act like a real man for probably the first time in his life. “I seriously don’t know what would I do without you.” He whispered. “But that doesn’t mean that my father can’t force me into a marriage with a girl, who I don’t know and obviously can’t love… Oh look, he found us, he’s coming here.”

Yoohwan stood up and looked at his father. “Daddy, sorry if I’m going to disappoint you, but me and Hyeji have to go, because we have to do some really urgent stuffs, right?” he glared at the girl. It wasn’t true obviously, but he really wanted to go away.
