A beautiful sunset overviewing the Im Group of Companies building, the colors of a social gathering were once again visible in Hyeji’s eyes. As much as she wanted to just stay at home, do her assignments or maybe watch tv, stepping into this kind of atmosphere actually made her feel welcome and cognizant once more of where a Song daughter belongs. “Maybe I do need this kind of break,” she thought as she made her way towards the food servings. There were roasted turkey, champagne, promising men and women of elite families as expected, gentlemen eyeing the laughing ladies… who knows, these women might be talking about those gentlemen too. But there is this certain gentleman that she hasn’t yet seen ever since she arrived at the exclusive venue. She again walked over to the veranda hoping to find the boy this time. “Im Yoohwan, I told you to welcome me when I arrive.. Where are you, hwannie?” she mumbled hoping that Yoohwan could catch her thoughts somewhere. Song Hyeji definitely stood out from the crowd, but she was a bit oblivious of the fact that she could be as notable and well loved by everyone as her sisters, Jirin and Miyoung… especially Miyoung.
Finally, she found her target, wearing a blue coat… his ever beloved favorite color. “There you are. Why didn’t you come out to look for me? I’ve been looking for you ever since I came with mom.” He didn’t answer back. Was something bothering him? “Hwannie.. is it the dance class?”
“Yeah.” He nodded slowly, and hugged her. “And I really hate these parties. But well, that’s the life, I guess.” Yoohwan sighed, and smiled at his friend. He looked around. Many men and women were there in obviously expensive clothes and they faces were so full of self-confidence that it was just… disgusting. And he had to realize, that only Hyeji and her mother were familiar to him. “I can’t believe that daddy knows all of their names,” he shook his head in disbelief. And of course his stepmother were there too, her arms linked with his father’s… not as if he cared about that woman even a little bit. He simply just hated the fact, that he had to be there. The only thing what he wanted in that moment was to go to his room, close his door and sleep. Or talking with Hyeji in a less noisy place would be satisfying enough. He just wanted to go away, and forget the thing that when he’ll take his father’s place, he’ll have to organize that kind of parties. Hyeji poked his shoulder gently. “Hwannie, you okay?” She asked, and she seemed kinda worried. “Yeah, I’m okay, I just… spaced out for a bit.” He smiled.
“So how long should we stay here, before we escape?” She asked with a grin on her face. He shrugged. “You are so creative today, Hwannie.” She rolled her eyes. He laughed. “You know I’m useless in things like this, you are the genius in escape tactics… Oh look, daddy’s coming here.” He turned around. “You guys having a good time together?” His father asked. “Yeah, since we’ve been friends since we know each other…” He smiled at the man with an obviously fake smile.
“You are cheesy!” she laughed at Yoohwan. “And I don’t really know if I could call it a love life. But one thing is for...
“Just don’t mention my engagement,” He sighed. “And well, yeah I thought about your love life, because I have none and...
